IMPORTANT READ!
The Battery

Changing it is a snap! The battery compartment has been uniquely designed to allow quick and easy swapping. The battery door, itself, is designed to pop out the battery and align it back into place in one motion.

There is a little trick to it. Use the battery door to easily wedge the 9-volt battery from its connection and lay in a new battery. As long as you match up the negative and positive right, once you close the door, it will align and seat the battery on its own as you press the door in. It’s pretty easy once you know the trick.

  1. Open the battery door on the back of the Rook.
TIP: using a key will make it easier to pop open.
  2. To remove the battery use the bottom of the battery door to wedge the 9-volt from its connection inside the unit. The battery door, itself, has a wedged tab at the bottom. Insert this tab between the battery and the connection inside the Rook and wedge it away from the connection. The battery will disconnect easily.
  3. To replace the battery, just lay a new 9-volt battery inside the housing making sure to match up the negative and positive connections properly. There is no need to push the battery onto the connection. Replace the door and push it down until it clicks into place. The door, itself, will align the battery into place and ensure proper connection.
  4. Turn the unit on using the power button on the front and go investigate.

*NOTE: The Rook is 3D printed right here at GhostStop. Each one is made with great care by hand. As such, each enclosure (external housing) may have unique elements in the texture that could appear to be small defects. These unique elements do not affect the function of the product. Though we do our best to keep them as uniform as possible, each one will be unique in some small way since they are each printed and hand-built for quality. Thanks for your understanding in that.
